Odessa – Southern Palmyra
Southern Palmyra or the Black Sea Pearl – they are non official names of Odessa city. This is poetic words about our city and you will assure yourself that it’s true when you come and see it.

Famous and fabulous Arcadia is a variety of night clubs, entertainments and restaurants, beaches along the whole sea shore. This is a place for rest and wonderful mood. You will feel summer spirit, wish to make these minutes longer and come back one more time again at least.

Odessa is multinational and multicultural city in Ukraine and this feature is reflected in architecture of hieratical buildings: Byzantine – Greek influence, Italian and French pieces of architecture in face of building estates, and also Armenian ways. Odessa was a favorite place of Empress Elizabeth II and that’s why many famous and eminent architects like Boffo, Phrapolli, Torricelli, Bernardatsi, Morandi were invited in Odessa.

Odessa language is Russian but it also has its own peculiar properties because of the same reasons – this is the influence of Ukrainian, Greek, Italian languages. That’s why we can talk about special “Odessa language”. Odessa is original and separate in many things from the City Birthday – the 2nd of September – which is celebrated in such a fabulous way like no other holiday in the whole country till special sense of humor.
Fool day, or the Day of Laugh is celebrated every year on 1st of April. It means many music concerts, parades with funny jokes and laugh.

Odessa is famous with its architecture which came into history with its great sense. Famous Potemkin Steps which were built by great duke Vorontsov as a gift for his beloved wife Elizabeth. Later it was renamed for honor of revolt at ironclad “Duke Potemkin-Tavricheskiy” in 1905. When you rich the top of the steps you see Primorskiy Boulevard with buildings famous with their amazing beauty. Here is also a monument for honor of Great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin who met his first real love here in Odessa.
Primorskiy Boulevard, City Garden which is situated along the central street ,Deribasovskaya Street are favorite places for rest of citizens and guests of our city. Opera House is one of three theatres built in one architecture project. This theatre has not only interesting architecture but also creative biography.

Odessa is a source of beauty and inspiration, a source without bottom, a city on the Black sea shore which everyone must see at least once in his life.
